What is Liquid Oxygen (LOX)?

Liquid Oxygen (LOX) is stored at approximately –183°C in a cryogenic tank. Through a vaporizer, it is converted into gas and then fed into the distribution pipeline. This is the most economical solution for large-scale medical and industrial oxygen consumption.

Components of a LOX System

  • Cryogenic Tank (1,000 to 20,000 liters)
  • Atmospheric or Electric/Steam Vaporizer
  • Manifold and Line Regulators/Pressure-Reducing Valves
  • Gas Line and Distribution Panels in Consumption Areas

Technical Specifications and Line Pressure

  • Purity: up to 99.5% (medical/industrial)
  • Gas Line Pressure: 4–8 bar (adjustable)
  • Tank Pressure: 2–10 bar (depending on design)
  • Standards: ISO 2046, EN 1089-3

Benefits for Hospitals and Industries

  • Stable and cost-effective oxygen supply
  • Consistent purity and quality
  • Reduced cylinder replacement and logistics costs
  • Scalable capacity options

Safety & Handling

LOX is extremely cold, and direct contact with skin can cause severe frostbite. Oxygen enrichment increases flammability risk. Avoid oil/grease on fittings. Installation areas must have proper ventilation and no open flames.

Safety & Downloads

LOX is extremely cold (–183°C) and can cause severe frostbite; use protective gloves and face shields. Oxygen enriches the surrounding atmosphere and significantly increases material flammability; avoid using oil or grease on fittings. The installation area must have proper ventilation. Smoking and open flames are strictly prohibited. Tanks must be handled and transported according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Pricing & Ordering

  • Price note: The price of liquid oxygen depends on tank capacity, vaporizer type, purity level, monthly refill frequency, and delivery distance. To receive an accurate quotation, please submit a price request.
  • Minimum order: 1 tank refill / or 500 L LOX

FAQ

What applications is LOX best suited for

LOX is ideal for hospitals and large industrial consumers that require a stable and economical oxygen supply.

What is the typical gas line pressure from a LOX system

Typically 4 to 8 bar (adjustable with regulators and line design)

Do you provide tank and vaporizer installation

Yes. Design, installation, commissioning, and operator training are all provided

What safety precautions are required

Use gloves and shields, ensure proper ventilation, avoid oil/grease on fittings, and keep the area free of open flames.

How are tank refilling and servicing performed

Based on the supply contract, refilling is carried out regularly, and periodic maintenance follows the manufacturer’s schedule.

Is medical LOX different from industrial LOX in purity

Yes. Purity control and hygiene requirements differ; medical LOX is produced under stricter health regulations.

What are the standard tank capacities

From 1,000 to 20,000 liters, with larger or customized options available based on consumption
